We've been keeping busy since our last update! Lots going on and lots of fun things to do! As many of you know, after testing and testing and more testing Chloe was accepted into the gifted program at school! To celebrate, we headed over to Dunedin to play, watch the sunset and get some ice cream.
This was on a Friday night that we were celebrating. This was the weekend before the tropical storm was supposed to hit. Nana was concerned that we weren't taking it very seriously, so we sent her a picture of our supplies to get us through.
While we were in Dunedin, we came across a place that had a guy playing guitar and steel drums. We sat and listened for about 2 hours. He even played 2 songs for the kids that they requested. Parker requested Volcano by Jimmy Buffett and Chloe requested Three Little Birds by Bob Marley. They have quite the song vocabulary...
Our lime tree is about the only plant that we haven't killed since we moved down here. Home Depot is going to ban me from bringing back any more dead plants. (For some reason our limes are yellow, but I promise they are limes!) Blake even made Key Lime Pie!
Chloe still gets in the kitchen any chance she can get. Desserts are her favorite to make, so we have no complaints there.
We went to John's Pass one afternoon. It is getting harder and harder to get a normal picture of Parker these days. It typically takes 3 or 4 pictures to get one where he is just smiling at the camera.

Chloe and I went shopping one day. She was in Beanie Boo heaven at Party City.
Chloe's friend had a bowling birthday party. Chloe had a blast!
This is what happens anytime your phone is left unattended with Chloe these days. We may be in trouble in a couple of years.
We went to Truck and Play Day with one of Parker's friends. He made Nana and Papaw John proud in the John Deere.
We haven't been down to our pool for a while, but we made it down the other day to swim for a while. We also played a couple games of shuffleboard. We didn't know how to play and couldn't understand the rules that we looked up online, so we made up our own. I'm sure our game was a lot more fun than the actual game.
When Mamaw Mona and Papaw Rocky got here, we went to the mall and let the kids spend some of their birthday money. They obviously couldn't pass up renting these bad boys to ride around the mall on.

The first character trait of the year at school was Responsibility. Parker received the award for his class. He said that he was so happy that he had tears in his eyes when they called his name.
He also got to silly string his principal and vice-principal since he turned in his summer reading log and summer homework. Each student that turned it back in got to spin a wheel for a prize. Chloe got an ice cream sandwich for her prize. After the kids ran out of silly string, they turned the tables and sprayed the students. Parker loved it!
On Saturday while Mamaw Mona and Papaw Rocky were here visiting, we went to the St. Pete sidewalk chalk festival. The kids drew their own masterpieces. I didn't get a final picture of Chloe's - it was really good though! It was a dolphin tail coming out of the water with the sun setting behind it.
After the sidewalk chalk festival, we headed to the beach for a little while.
One of Chloe's birthday purchases were fake nails. They lasted maybe 5 minutes max, but they looked super cute for that 5 minutes!
This is my typical morning commute. Not too shabby of a way to start the day.
Chloe has to do a presentation on something that she is passionate about in her gifted class. She chose helping the hungry as her topic. She did some research and made a poster for her presentation to the class. We were able to include the newspaper articles from a couple years from the church food drive as well (Thanks Nana!).
