Always Something Fun To Do

This week was Wacky Hair/Hat Day at school. Chloe wanted to do cupcakes again since she hadn't done that at her new school yet.

 Parker wanted to dye his hair green. I got him up early to do it, and it turned out great! When I told him he couldn't lay his head back down though, he decided that he wanted it washed out and he would just wear his hat instead so he wore his fishing hat to school...

 Friday was the Character Assembly at school. This month's Sea Turtle Characteristic of the month was Caring. Chloe's class voted her as the most caring person, so she got a certificate and 3 Spirit Sticks. She was beyond excited! (Spirit Sticks are little tags that they collect and put on their bookbags throughout the year that say different things. She got one that says "My Principal is Proud of Me", "Student of the Month" and "Super Job" to add to her collection.)

 Friday evening we went over to Pier 60 at Clearwater. We got there just in time to watch the sunset. Beautiful!!

 We found this pirate. He helped the kids to make sparks with his sword on the sidewalk!

 He asked Chloe if she wanted the gun or sword for a picture, and she said both...

 The kids got picked to be helpers in one of the stunts of the street performers. The guy in the pink shorts on the left jumped over all of them!!

A Great Memorial Day Weekend

Our Memorial Day weekend started with a Rays game on Friday night. The Easter Bunny brought Parker tickets this year, so he has been counting down the days for a while now! Bonus - the Rays won!! 

Chloe was excited to meet the cheerleaders.

 They got to feed the sting rays before the game, so they obviously enjoyed that!

 This was the view of the stadium from our seats. The first time a ball came in our stands, Parker looked at Blake and said,"That was scary, Daddy!" We thought he would think it was cool and even brought his mitt. After that, he gave his glove to Daddy.

 Saturday was Chloe's day to pick what we did. She wanted to hang out at home, watch movies and play board games. Parker had Hawaii Day at school on Friday and had fruit kabobs. We worked in making some of those for supper.

 Sunday was Parker's day to pick what we did. He picked to go fresh water fishing at Lake Tarpon. We didn't exactly kill it... Blake caught a little blue gill and we saw an alligator. It was a gorgeous day to be out on the water though! While we were loading up the kayaks to go, we found this turtle hanging out by our fence. The kids named him Speedy the Third.

 Monday was Mommy's choice. We went to the old Skyway Bridge fishing pier for a day of fishing. We left early enough that Chloe needed a sweatshirt for a while! She was the only one - it was like 75 at the "coldest".

 Chloe caught us supper for tomorrow night with 2 Spanish Mackerels that were keepers. She was Little Miss Fisherman today!

 Best fishing buds - anyone who is around Parker for any amount of time at all will have an appreciation of how many times you can imagine we heard "Daddy..." followed up with a question today. I love it and hope he never stops.

Chloe baited her hooks and took off almost all of her fish today. She was all over it today!

 I took this picture and couldn't help but think of Blake's words to me not long ago. We were at the beach a week or so ago, and he looked at me and goes, "She's gonna be really pretty, isn't she?" I said, "Yes, she is." He said, "Dang it..."

 By the time we got off the pier and were back on the road for not even 2 minutes, this is what we saw in the backseat. A great weekend with two very tired kiddos!

The Cup Song

Chloe is absolutely obsessed with playing the cup song. To say we've heard her do it a million times this week would be a drastic understatement... Here it is!

Daddy saw some manatees when he was out in the kayak today. He got about a foot away from them as they played. They were there the entire day. I couldn't get the video to upload but here is a picture of them sunning themselves.

Chloe was invited to a birthday party at the zoo last weekend for one of her friends in her class. They had a good turnout, and the kids had a ball! They brought in animals to the party for them to get a close up look at and got to pet a couple of them. They got to see a hedgehog, snake, tortoise and an owl! This is Chloe and the birthday girl, Melodi.

We got there a little early so we spent our time wisely taking some selfies.

 The kids went on the log ride probably 25 times. They went with us the first 2 times then ditched us for their friends.

 At one point, we were feverishly looking around to find Parker when about that time we saw this log coming down the chute. He has definitely come out of his shell!!!

 Parker's artwork is on the online gallery through school, but you don't get to see much of Chloe's artwork so here are a couple things that she brought home this week. I love it!!

 Wednesday was Daddy's birthday. We didn't get any pictures with the cake because we had a bit of a malfunction... The kids made the cake and decorated it all by themselves. I should have taken a picture prior to putting the lid on the pan because when we took the lid off 80% of the icing came with it. :( Happy birthday anyway, Daddy!

 The kids didn't ignore Mommy though just because it was Daddy's birthday :)

Second round of visitors

Our second visitors were Nana & Avri. The kids had fun showing them around.

 We had 2 beach days. The kids made the comment that Avri should be on a TV show as we watched her get rolled about 5 times in the ocean.

 It was very nice having them here to celebrate Mother's Day. After church, we took some pictures before heading back to the beach.

 The night before they left we had supper at a restaurant on the beach and got to watch the sunset. It was a beautiful night and a great way to end the weekend!
